Puerto Rico on a Quarter!!!!
Can it be true, well I didn't think so either until I read about the release from the U.S mint on www.nydailynews.com. Last week the U.S. mint released the Puerto Rican quarter with a Spanish inscription, "Isla del Encanto"- "Island of enchantment." The Governor of Puerto Rico, Luis Fortuno, said "the reality is the United States is one of the biggest Spanish speaking countries in the world, with 45 million citizens of Hispanic descent." The Puerto Rican quarter officially entered into circulation on Monday April 6th, 2009. I personally am proud to have a Puerto Rican quarter and hope in time that the U.S. mint will commemorate all of our South American and Central American Lateeno countries. The United States has Lateeno blood flowing through its veins from the Revolutionary War to present, why not recognize every South and Central American Country on a quarter. I look forward to this coin and others to follow, God bless America.
